Hugh is an Oxford graduate Physicist who has considerable experience of both patent litigation and prosecution. He has for some years dealt with semiconductor and electronic cases. He is currently senior partner in our Tunbridge Wells office. He is married and a keen Rotarian and classic sportscar enthusiast.

Nigel Shindler  *+

Nigel graduated in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, London, specialising in semiconductor technology. He started in the Patent profession at Lloyd Wise in 1969 and gained Industrial experience at Molins Machine Company. He is currently senior partner in our London office. Nigel enjoys photography, cycling, skiing and canals and has his own narrowboat.

   

John Blake  *

An encounter with patents in the laboratories of a company specialising in polymer processing and the manufacture of seals and sealants stimulated John - a chemistry graduate - to move into the Patent profession. With experience as an in-house patent attorney with a major multinational, John specialises in chemical and pharmaceutical work.

David Bailey  *+

David's practice provides an enjoyable balance across the full range of intellectual property rights, advising clients large and small on patents, trade marks designs and copyright. A chemistry graduate, he supports his clients in obtaining and enforcing their own IP rights as well as defending against threats of infringement of third party rights.


     

Jane Martin  +

Jane is Head of our Trade Marks department. A History graduate from London University, Jane qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney in 1985 and has over 20 years experience in private practice. Her expertise covers all areas of Trade Mark law and practice. She is married with three daughters.

 

John Miller  *

Whilst working in-house for a manufacturing group and a start-up pharmaceutical company, John experienced first hand the commercial importance of Intellectual Property rights. At Brookes Batchellor, John, a European and UK Patent Attorney, applies his City training as a Solicitor, his degree in Electronic Engineering and his experience in industry for the benefit of his clients.

Rosemary Eve  *


Rosemary has a first class honours degree in physics from Queen Mary College, London University. A UK and European Patent Attorney, Rosemary joined us in 2001 and deals with a broad range of technological areas, but particularly specialises in semiconductor technology. David Weitzel  *

 


David trained initially as an electrical engineer and qualified in 1974. He has wide-ranging experience in matters including mechanical, electrical, communications and games, amongst others, for clients ranging from individuals to national and international corporations.

Pamela Botell

 

Pamela joined Brookes Batchellor in 1998 and has become a valued member of the Trade Mark team. Her role as a Trade Mark Assistant involves her in all aspects of Trade Mark work. Pamela is a student member of the ITMA and is studying for qualification as a Trade Mark Attorney.

 

Mark Guy

 

An undergraduate research placement in the United States and subsequent postgraduate study of key cell wall biosynthetic pathways in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, first drew Mark’s attention to intellectual property issues. Mark joined the firm in 2004 and is working towards qualification as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. He specialises in chemical and mechanical technologies and also advises on design matters.

Mark Jolly

 

Mark first joined the firm in 2002 for an industrial placement year as part of his degree in Chemistry with Patent Law at the University of Manchester. He then returned to University to complete his degree where he obtained the highest mark in his year. Having graduated, Mark returned to Brookes Batchellor LLP and is now gaining experience in dealing with a broad range of issues in various technical fields as he progresses towards qualification as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney.
